July 4, 2008 minutes
New Board members:
Justin Cooper-Commodore

Tom Kight-Past Commodore
All board members present.
Tom Kight, Commodore, opened the meeting with the salute to the American flag at 6:15 p m. He then introduced the new officers.
Tom commented on the good attendance at the BBQ and thanked Marlene and Skip for hosting it at the Boathouse Marina. (Richard as always did a great job at the grill.)
Old Business:
Richard gave a brief report about rat gear and plans to put in an order immediately after the next meeting.
The Commodore said a couple of races in this series had to be canceled due to bad weather, but otherwise all is going well.
Kevin is collecting dues and will give a treasurer's report at the next meeting. He reminded members who have not paid that they should address the matter as soon as possible.
Tom then turned over the meeting to our new Commodore, Justin Cooper. This was followed with applause for Tom.
Justin also thanked Marlene and Skip for hosting the day's event. He then gave Tom a gift, and one to Richard, (who was Commodore before Tom) To everyone's surprise he had caps with "RC" on them for Judy and Bob, the faithful race committee, who were even more surprised than the others.
The Commodore closed the meeting after which Bob Trail took pictures for the newsletter.
